KTM UKs Shaun Simpson rode the first round of the Dutch Championship at Gemert where he scored a satisfactory 5th and 6th places against the sand specialists of the lowlands.

Tyla Rattary won the overall in the wet conditions from teammate Rui Goncalves and Jeremy Van Horebeek in 3rd. Meanwhile Belgiums Ken De Dycker won in MX1 on his Suzuki from defending World Champion Steve Ramon with KTM's Max Nagl in 3rd.

Bad news is that Dutchman Marc De Reuver reportedly broke his ankle during qualifying for the race, despite not even crashing.This is terrible news for the popular dutchman who looked to be bang in form going into the first round of the GPs at Valkensward. De Reuver has vowed to try and race the GP in front of his home fans but with only 3 weeks to go time may not be on his side.
